can my temp sensor be jacked on my mobo?

Because i've had issues with what it says for awhile now. there is like a 10 degree difference between what probe/bios says and what sandra/monitor say. sandra and monitor say 56 right now. i have an 80mm coolermaster dream. and on my old mobo CPU's never ran that high. also my old t-bred 2100 was running 50degrees on this mobo but when i pulled it and put it on my mothers A7N8x it ran at 40, what my bios and probe were saying. weird huh? she has the same HSF too. any ideas? anyone else have temp probs with this mobo?
