Can my system handle an upgrade?

Here's my system:

C2D e6400 @ 2.4 GHz
2 GB Patriot DDR2 667
Gigabyte GA-965p-DQ6
Seasonic S12 500w
250gb WD HDD
XFX 7800gt
Razer Barracuda AC-1

Considering I only game at 1280x1024, it's been pretty good at handling what I can throw at it thus far. I usually just play Quake Wars and, on occasion, Battlefield 2.

I picked up a copy of Unreal Tournament 3 a few days ago at Target since it was only $20. It runs, but the framerate is slower than I'd like in certain places and I think my 7800gt is starting to show its age. UT3 definitely isn't the most intensive game out there and I'd like to be able to comfortably play other new games like Call of Duty 4 and maybe even Crysis.

I was considering buying a new video card since there are some pretty mean rebate deals going on at the moment. I've got a budget of $100 max including any rebates, terra firma, so that allows for either a 9800GT or Radeon 4830. I understand that these two are roughly comparable. Would my system be able to handle either of these cards? If they'd be too much, how about a 9600gt or 4670?

EDIT: I almost pulled the trigger on a 4830, but I decided at the last minute to wait things out and see how low the prices will go. You never know... :)

It looks like Asus has a 4830 for the same price as the Sapphire, but it comes with a higher memory clock. Any reason to choose Sapphire over Asus?

The eVGA 9800gt looks like a nice card, but I'd rather stay within my budget.
