Hi everyone.

I am a bit worried on if my PSU it large enough for what i have in my system.

Here are my specs:

i7 875K overclocked to 4 ghz
Asus Sabertooth 55I motherboard
MSi GTX 480 Overclocked to 850mhz
H70 CPU cooler
4 spinpoint F4 2TB Hard drives
1 Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD
1 120gb ssd
8gb ddr3 ram
Antec DF-85 with every fan slot full
A few mis. add in cards

And here is my PSu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-021-_-Product
Antec TruePower TP-650 650W

I would like to Fold with my system 24/7 (except when gaming and working of course😛)

I may also like to pop in a GTX 470 i have as a physics card (i know that would force an upgrade...)

So anyway what PSU would you recommend?

Do i need a new one with my current specs?
Is it cutting it close to the line?

Thanks for any help!

I wouldn't trust it, especially not with a GTX 470 added in. You have a lot of hard drives, a lot of fans, and you're overclocked. All of this means a lot of power.

It's not the wattage that's the problem, however. It's the wattage combined with the efficiency. If it were me, I would go with minimum of 750 watts for 80+ gold, adding a couple hundred watts for each drop down the 80+ scale.

Wait for another opinion, of course. I just wouldn't want something in your system to break because of a power problem.

lol,

But am i good with just the gtx 480 (not the 470 in the system) with everything else?

Can 650w power my needs (with-ought the 470?)

I used that psu wattage thing, and here where my results:

Minimum PSU Wattage: 668 W
Recommended PSU Wattage: 750 W

and that is just for the GTX 480 installed...

This is leading my to want to get a 850w psu (or more?)

650 Watt might be passable without the GTX470 installed, but 750 Watt would be better. 850 Watt for sure if you are installing the 470. And as always buy from a reputable brand (no Roswill, or Sunbeam).

Yes the psu is a good brand. The problem might be with it trying to keep up with the high end hardware you are running. I use the a 650w Antec Earthwatts on my server but no way I would use it or the one you first asked about with the hardware you speak of.

The one you mentioned is killer. Go for it! Your system ,if it could would thank you many times over.
