Can my motherboard support a hd4670?????

Hello
I have a Foxconn g31mv-k, with a daul-core e5200, 1gb ram and a 500w supply.
I want to buy a video card to light gaming, CS: Source, Halo 2 and NFS: Undercover

My firt choice is the HIS Hightech Radeon HD 4670 IceQ Turbo 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI-E 2.0, but im not sure if my mobo will be able to support the card, or if the pci-e 1.0 will work with a pci-e 2.0 card with ddr3.

If someone can answer my question. Thank you.

Yes, it will work. PCI-e 1.0 and 2.0 have full intercompatibility

Absolutely, grab another gig of ram at least. Maybe a 2GB stick considering how cheap it is.

Since that card is 70$ AR and you have a 500W PSU, it should handle the two below cards fine:

A HD4830 with custom cooling for 83$ AR or a HD4850 from XFX that vents the air outside for 90$ AR. Those will blow the HD4670 out of the water performance wise and should be also quiet (though do check on the noise first!).

And yeah, definately get that RAM at least to 2GB.

As for your question, if you decide to go with the HD4670, it will work fine with your motherboard.
