Can my gas stove blow me up?

So we had our gas stove oven for about half a year, one day we walked into the apartment and it reaked like gas. We had the apartment maintenance guy take a look and he said it was leaking and needed to be replaced... No problem. So we got a new one and everything seems fine so far, but is there any possibility that if it leaks again it could blow us all up? I mean theres 2 pilot lights for the range and 1 for the oven. What are the chances i could meet my maker in th near future because of this?

I try to avoid gas appliances in the house. Any malfunction and BAM! I have a gas heating system in the attac now that worries me some. The other one is outside the house.
