You could use a PCI-E to 4 pin adapter, they usually come w/ the Card, but i wouldn't suggest it.

Assuming it's an ATX PSU:

Get one of these and make your self happy :)

Enhance 400W

FSP 450W

Get yourself a Nvidia 7900gs. Don't buy a new power supply and a 1900gt. It's not worth it. A 7900gs will be fine for your pent 4 duel core and low power.

True, that would be a viable alternative

Careful Dell Cases/PSUs/Motherboards are proprietary. You'd be better of asking this question the the Dell Forums.

A Normal ATX PSU wont fit in my case (Dell 8400) because their isnt a large open hole like a normal ATX case would have, the case only has a hole for where the plug goes and the fan, meaning I would need to find a PSU without a Switch on it. Even then there not a guarantee that it would fit.

PC Power and Cooling makes some PSU there are compatible with Dell, they are expensive tho.

So I would check with Dell Forums before you make any purchase...

i'm looking to upgrade my e510 dell with this. i have a PCI-express slot. 305 w PSU stock. looks like a i need to give it a power cable but i'm sure there is one open.

my 305W psu is powering 1 dvd-r, 2 sticks of ram 2 SATA HD, 1 wireless card. 2.8 dual core i hope the video card is not too much for it.

Yes it will work fine. You do not need a new PSU either. It does 18A on two 12V rails.

That card also appears to come with the power adapter that you will need.

this was the main reason why i posted the question. i'm the type of guy when i in doubt i'll just replace the PSU and then go video card but since i have a dell it slims down a little bit my options. I dont know of any dell sites.
