Can my audio be going bad?

First symtoms came as a lot of my apps that run on the task bar in the background dissapeared, then games started to freeze the sound was like a cd skipping, i now dissabled audio onboard now games work fine but apps still missing.

could my problems be caused by audio hardware failure?
has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

Is my audio bad hardware bad? if so the mb is still under waranty.

thanks

Have you tried downloading latest drivers for the onboard sound and reinstalling associated applications from the original CD-ROM. It seems that for some onboard sound works fine for others, it's rubbish.....depends on the system really.

If you do value the sound and it still doesn't work then it's [probably worth getting at least a low end 4 channel sound card such as the Hercules Muse, or CMI8738 offerings from various manufacturers.

i have installed all new drivers. still the same problem

i think i am going to send it back to soyo, i have a usb port that does'nt work and the onboard networking port is touchy, if the cable gets bumped it wont work.

i just didnt want to be without my pc but now this is just too much. if this is what to expect from soyo i dont think i will buy another.
