I mean, they are saying the X-Box will get 200 million polygons/sec! That's crazy, considering the PS2 is only getting 75 million/sec... Supposedly they should be using the GeForce chip 2 generations ahead... Do you guys think they can keep their promises?

It's 300million compared to 66million;)

But, that is peak, neither of them will come close in real world performance.

i'm a bit confused about the x-box. the specs seem to show that it's just a regular pc. what's the big deal?

Take everything said about the Xbob with a grain of salt. Remember, Microsoft are the kings of hyping up product and never living up to the hype in the end.

The 66 million polys of the PS2 is bull. Ridge Racer V only pushes like 4-5 million. There will never be a game that pushed that many polygons on the Playstation 2.

Wait a second. If it uses the GF 2 generations in the future...isn't the CPU going to be like a 700MHz chip? Theoretically, if they stick with that spec that CPU is going to be holding the GF-?? back..:Q

Piku,
The X million polys of the Y is bull.

Replace X with the spec from your favorite vid card (Y), the statement stands true for anything

thats true genocide :)

But with the PC market polys really never meant anything. Ever.

With console systems all you hear about is how many polys they can push, but with video cards for the PC you only really hear about how fast they run quake :p
