Can MS Dot Net pose any security risk to XP Pro?

I bought Norton Ghost to ghost my Drives (I will not run with out dot net) and I want to know if installing MS dot net can create any addintal security risks I'm behind a Linksys router. I heard it creates and addintal account can I deleate that? Thanks
 
The account is generated with a random password and has very few permissions, on top of that it is only used in conjunction with IIS. If you don't have IIS installed, it is of no use.
