I bought a hp zr22w about a week ago and I enjoy it alot except when working with images and making textures. The grain is really irritating and in the way. Im wondering the matte filter can be removed or not?

I always understoot a monitor's matte surface was created by the glass used, not a filter. ???

not sure, but it feels like its a plastic panel in front of the glass.

edit..after looking around more I found that apparently it is the glass. I'm not sure if it can easily be replaced with a gloss glass but so far I haven't found any thing on that being done.

I guess I will have to stick with it.

Yeah - you have to replace the entire screen. As a work around, you can connect an external monitor with a glossy screen.

I dont feel like replacing the entire screen, that would probably cost more then its worth.I will just try to work with it for the next 2 years then hand it down to my brother and buy a different one.
