Of course racism exists today. I have not read one single post in this thread that indicates anyone here believes otherwise. You, however, have an agenda. And that agenda is filled with propaganda bullsh!t, such as your fabricated etymologies of the words picnic and n*gger. You have made it quite clear to me that you are easily the most racist person in this thread. Good job.

Name calling doesn't make you a smarter person, quite the opposite. I may not have done my homework on those words, but fundamentals of my arguments are still there. Furthermore, my "agenda" as you call it should be prescient if you interpret it the right way. The African Americans in this country have been dealt with half-heartedly and in a reluctant and defensive manner. America (again) is trying to impose what should be a voluntary system (democracy) in a very tough neighborhood and is doing it with double standards that are stark and repulsive.

The two scenerios are rich in irony because the fear and terror Americans of African descent have gotten accustomed to are coming home to roost because of the terrorism brought down by Muslims who are tired of the double standards of American democracy in their home countries. It'll last so long as people here continue to deny the fact that we are no better than other nations looking out for what's best for them. We are not a benevolent empire. We are not bringing democracy to the Middle East. We are there for our own interest. But the fear of sporadic and unimageniable violence has taken hold in this country may put the brakes on those illusions of equality that we supposedly espouse and seek to bring to others. In truth, we are no different. We're like the pigs in Animal Farm. Perhaps, unless Americans learn our lessons from history, we may have to endure what the Europeans endured before they too realized what evil can do when it lies dormant for such a long, long time. It becomes part of the fabric of society and terrible things happen when that evil rears it's ugly head. Fortunately, Europeans have been forced to look at what all that can do. The only other country that really hasn't learned from history is Japan. Even though she is tamed byher neighbors, her homogenous society makes it difficult for her to see the evil that was done by her own "liberation of Asia from the Europeans." The massive amount of Chinese and other Asians killed in the name of liberating Asia, but in reality picking off where they left off.

Coming back to this country, anyone old enough can see our double-standard in the Middle East. The pride and arrogance we have in our political beliefs was used as a launchpad to start a conflict that will drain us of strength. The irony is that the execution of those beliefs that Americans so worship is as hollow as the motives for invading sovereign nations.

The double standards that's lead Muslims fighters to attack us with such cruel and blunt instruments will be our own downfall unless we come to the realization that we need to clean our own house before trying to clean others.

I've never seen a black comedian say "kill whitey"

:music:
I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the whities I see,
I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the whities I see.
When I kill all the whities I see, then whitey he won't bother me,
I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the whities I see.

Then I'll get a white woman who's wearing a navy blue sweater...

That's his/her feeling and he's/she's entitled to it. But reality (minorities such as you) states otherwise.

well, enlighten me. why do you think white men have it so good compared to you in the U.S.?

i am a woman, btw, and in some job fields i would be considered a minority which would actually help my chances of getting the job.

CEOs and all the people in power are 99% white males

Ask yourself this question: would you rather be a white woman or a minority woman in United States? Don't say 'no pref'
99%? could you verify that with a link?

what minority are you btw?

i honestly believe if i was who i am (intelligence-wise, with the same college degree and experience) i would be where i am no matter what nationality i was. if i were a black woman, a hispanic woman, etc. i'd be in the same spot because that is where i want to be. i don't see any discrimination based on skin color/ethnicity where i am sitting.

Have fun living in your utopia world where everyone is nice and tolerance to other people. Do you honestly believe that? Do you honestly believe that a black woman has a good chance just like a white man(assuming they are both qualified) if she decides to run for the President or any position of power?

How old are you?
you seem quite bitter. how have you been kept down? this is what this is all about, right?

also, it is very insultive that you take my opinion and turn it into me living in a dream world - utopia.
you asked me personally if i would rather be a white woman or a minority woman. i answered your question.

Bitter? I thought this thread is for white people feeling bitter because minority people are getting all the special treatments. am I right?

I stand corrected. You do live in an utopia world. Everyone is nice and tolerance to other people. Isn't that a little idealistic?

How do you know if a minority/black woman can get to where you are right now? Please care to explain that to us.

are you a black man?
have you been discriminated against?
do you think if you were white, with your same personality/intelligence level/credentials/experience that you'd be further along in life than you are right now?

stop with the utopia stuff. i have given my opinion. if you don't share it - go ahead and provide personal proof to the contrary.

It is no secret that racism still exists in this country, so why would it surprise you that discrimination exists? Do you think there aren't any racists in a position to discriminate against people they don't like? I don't have a link for you, but I can give you an example a sociology professor told me about. A study was done where two sets of resumes were sent out with equal qualifications. One set of resumes had white sounding names, the other set had hispanic names. They found that the white sounding names got about 10 times as many responses.

No but she's "whitewashed," that's the only reason she got the job. See if you speak intelligently and care about education, etc, you aren't a "real" black person.

Racism exists in America today and so does discrimination. But every school and every company I know of is actively seeeking smart minorities. If you are a smart black, hispanic, or even woman engineer around Dallas you can find a job much easier than I could. I agree with some that has been said on both sides in this thread but hate that people are either taking one side or the the total opposite. I think there is a happy medium here.

When another group replaces them, they will become a bigger target. This is what I think and I could be wrong, like I am many times.

Yes, I have seen comedians make fun of whites, like the way they dance or whatever, or call them names. It can be offensive, but in a different way. What Michael Richards did was totally different and is not really comparable. We as people have to grow up.
Nice troll.

Of course there is a double standard. Even Jews were down on Richards until they realized he was one of them.

But the black people are extremely sensitive and no one is allowed to utter the N word because it is their right only to say it and to use it and interpret it in whatever way they want. But you can't use the word in any case. What, do you think you live in a land where you have freedom of speech?

He wil be crucified for saying the N word, while admitting on stage that it was shocking. It was stupid and not especially cool but the man doesn't deserve to be charged with crimes... this is actually being discussed.

But what kills me is the the guy who called him a cracka motherf***er is gonna win a huge lawsuit against Kramer.

I can't say I feel sorry for that Kramer tard... hell, you are a multi-millionaire and you still wanna hang out at a comedy club? Why not hang out in Vegas with hot babes and whatnot? :p

To be honest... I don't really know why but I feel comfortable and actually laugh when Chris Rock makes this kind of joke. When 'Kramer' made the jokes. I really didn't feel comfortable. I didn't really think it was funny at all. I guess I'm a victim of society?

Just to clear things up a bit I guess... I'm an east Indian with a white gf. To me race doesn't mean much, I don't get offended by anything and know my gf's parents don't want her to be anywhere near me. It doesn't bother me... I pretty much understand how society works and tend to have no problems with flowing with it.

If any White, Black or other race hates what people say about you in the US....................... You have an opportunity to relocate or get the F*** out of the country and move your A** elsewhere! How about Canada or Iraq? They'll welcome you with open arms I'm sure
Or, stay in the US, hold yourself back from thinking you can actually "WORK", collect welfare, have 5 kids and live off the system! Hillbilly & Nig** mean the same thing!

If I did'nt like it somewhere, I would move. It's like a bad neighbor you cannot stand at an apartment! Then again, it's all about slavery and the past, remember that

I'm not defending Kramer (I really don't like the guy) but just stating my opinion.
Brothers need to CHILL! ................. Ooops, should I have said that? Damn, am I a racist?

Why do you think this is? Maybe the term double standard is not accurate. I have to work on my english.

See what has happened to blacks and minorities in America. The same has not happened to whites. People are sensitive to this sort of stuff. It makes them uncomfortable. Like I said, whites control the power in America for the most part and that is among the reasons they are a bigger target - along with their size in population. Look at things proportionally.

Go away. Slavery ended 143 years ago, move the fvck on.

Come back when you've read an American history book that went past 1865.
