can M2A-VM run windows 7?

i looked on the manufacturer site http://ca.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2AVM/

and can't find any info about this mobo being able to run windows 7.

i searched on google but people were only asking about the M2A-VM HDMI version of the motherboard. i only have the regular M2A-VM.

also if i'm able to install windows 7, will this mobo run with 4GB of RAM? i'm asking this cause on the manufacturer site it said i should be using 3GB or less of RAM for windows xp.

thanks.

I would be absolutely shocked if there are not Windows 7 compatible drivers for that board with how new it is. Also, the motherboard supports up to 8GB of ram, you just need to have a 64 bit version of Windows.

actually now that I think about it, I have just resurrected that board and am running Ubuntu on it. It does run Win7 though.

what drivers were you using with m2a-vm to run windows 7?

EDIT: i just realized i linked you guys to the wrong mobo in my first post. i corrected the link and it now goes to the mobo that i have.

You don't need any drivers I suppose? Everything should work except rare auxiliary ports. (such as eSATA if there is one)

They've got all the drivers for windows 7 (both 32 and 64bit) available, so yes it will run 7

Yes, the ASUS M2A-VM is compatible with Windows 7 x86/x64 bit of all versions. Only thing you need to do is download the 5001 bios from asus, restart your computer, go into the bios and flash it. It takes less than 5 minutes and then you can restart your computer, run windows 7 setup.

Currently, I am trying to install Windows 8 on this board, however beginning of installation is giving me a Missing Media Driver Error.
