I'm currently running Win2k on my first part. which is 2.5, but would like to have Linux run on my second part, but not sure if Linux (or any Unix flavor OS) have the NT wihtin 2gb threshold.

Can this be done ?

Thanks

Thanks, I'm about to reformat again, but i'll be sure to use Fat32. Any advice as to which one I should use ?

I'm only going to install it so I can get familiar with the OS enviroment. I have RH 6.1 and Mandrake (version unknown).

Any suggestions ?

I would just use whatever file type. I would split the drive into at least a gig for linux and the rest for w2k. I would disable the ntloader and use LILO or Grub though

~Note~
You can run LINUX on a really small amount of space, even on a floppy but to enjoy X and the applications and stuff you need some space for it. Just be sure to make a bootdisk for LINUX

I'd say to use NTFS w/ the dual boot. You loose write capabilites from Linux but it'll (Win2k) work better (I use reiserfs on Linux which means I loose read AND write capabilites from Win2k, but again this works better than ext2).
