Can KT133 Chipsets run 266FSB CPUs?

I have an MSI VIA KT133 based board that won't run a 1GHz 266FSB at any multiplier above 8.5 (default is 7.5 for this 133mhz rated cpu).
Is the KT133 chipset unable to properly manage a 133mhz cpu?

have you tried another CPU on that board, or have you only used your 1.0GHz cpu? if you've only used yours it might not be the board...also, i'm guessing you're trying to overclock right?

No, the KT133 only supports 100MHz FSB and 133MHz SDRAM. The KT133 revision A (KT133A) as AMDPwred mentioned does suuport 133MHz FSB and 133MHz SDRAM.

ah yes, a quick visit to the VIA website confirms that the KT133 supports only 200mhz fsb Athlon/Duron CPU's.

I had 750 TBird (100MHz FSB) that OC'd to about 900 with multipliers at 8.5 x 104 or 9.0 x 100. The new processor, a 133 FSB TBIRD with 7.5 default multiplier, also only gets to about 8.5 multiplier at 100FSB (or 102).

I've seen different opinions as to whether this chipset, KT133, can properly deal with a 133FSB chip. Seems like there is still a difference of opinion.

I think you people are comfusing him.

Yes, you can run a 266FSb CPU on a KT133 board. You have to run it at 200FSB though. You simply jsut change the jumpers and you're all set. The maximum that the KT133 chipset can handle is about 108 to 115Mhz. Anything higher will result in a crash.
