Can iTunes songs be burned to a CD?

Yes, you can burn them, but first you have to add it to a playlist, then burn that playlist. (the playlist can be just one song)

An Error box comes up.
In it it says:

None of the files can be burned to an MP3 CD. For more information on why the file can not be burned, click below.
The file"Shake That" is an iTunes Music Store file and can not be burned to an MP3 CD. iTunes Music Store Files can not be burned to an MP3 CD.

OMFG....they are NOT mps..they are Protected AAC files.

You need to burn it as an audio cd

You can convert the iTunes purchased track to MP3 using iTunes 1st, then burn that to MP3 CD using your own software. It'll degrade the quality of the track though.

iTunes makes it wonderfully easy to create your own custom music CDs to play in your car or home stereo. Unlike some applications that limit the number of CDs you can burn, iTunes lets you burn as many custom CDs as you like.
You can play your music CDs in your car and on home stereo systems. iTunes also lets you make MP3 CDs, though iPod makes them a little less useful. Audio CDs play in CD players like the one in your car or home stereo. MP3 CDs play on Mac and Windows computers and in MP3-compatible car stereos and CD players.
something must be messed up

go to edit>prefeerences>advanced>buring?

and select audio CD.

I'm surprised since it is usually the default option.

Yeah I know.
I have a feeling iTunes could be about 1 tenth the size, faster, and easier to use than it is.
The ONE thing it does, that other software doesn't, is burn MP3's in the order you place them on the screen. Nero for example, will automatically alphabatize the songs.
