Can it thunder and lightning in a snow storm?

yes, it happens more often than people think.

big snow storms are just thunderstorms.

last weekend we had a nasty system come though. I saw lightning and heard thunder while we were getting near blizzard conditions.

First time I did was November, 1978, or 79.
