I replaced my hs/fan with a taisol model, nothin big, just swap and reboot. But, upon reboot, my machine would give fatal error. I could not goto into windows w/o safe mode.
Now, I do remember installing PCAnywhere32 in the morning w/o rebooting, so that could be the problem. I had to reinstall windows, but now im curious. would a hs/fan swap
do anything with windows being corrupt?

Anyway my comp is supa quiet! WAHHOOO!

switch the HSF back to original, and if it still has problem, then its your software, else its your HSF, but i dont think thats the case because windows doesnt communicate with a heatsink or fan

U could have cut a trace in your mobo, you could have flexed and broke a trace in your mobo, you could have cracked the CPU core, etc.

Don't think the hsf has anything to do with your windows problems. If it was a temperature problem stemming from the hsf, then you'd either not be able to post or have the chip get extremely hot and burn up.
