Can Inkjet Transparencies be 'reused'? Can they be wiped clean and reused?

I was wanting to know is it possible to reuse inkjet transparencies? They are really expensive (unless you have a cheaper source to tell me about). . .

Can you wipe them clean and reprint on them? If so is it easy to do ?

Thanks for any information!

They cant be 'wiped' clean because the ink actually dries on them, you MIGHT be able to use alcohol to clean them, but my guess is that it'd be a PITA. They arn't THAT expensive afterall...

In my experience, they can't. The inkjet transparancies I used had to be loaded into the printer a certain way or they smeared. I'd imagine they are designed in such a way for the ink to dry almost immediately.

I was hoping that I could use them to present daily lessons (at a middle school level). They'd be way to expensive @ 6.50 for 20 at a pop.

You could use the non ink jet transparencies and just be sure you don't smug it before class.

Inkjet ink is water soluble. Try soap and water and soak one in the sink. Rinse and repeat.

I'll try it with the sink thing and report back later :) I've hurt my hand, and I can type ok, but grasping hurts. Was trying to find an alternate method of instruction for a little while . ..

Nope. Ever tried to write on something plasticky with water based pens or markers? They bead. Inkjet transperencies needs to be printed on the proper side, because there's a transparent porous coating that lets water based ink print on them without beading.
