Can ice cream spoil?

I was just wondering if ice cream can spoil if it's been in the freezer the whole time? I've had a pint of Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey inside the freezer here at work for more than a month. I was craving something for dessert and I just remembered that I had it in there. To me it looks OK. There is some ice crystals on the inside, but I presume that you keep something long enough in the freezer, that would build up anyways. I'm currently eating it as I write this and it tastes fine.

I've eaten *really* old ice cream and never been sick, so I'm sure it's fine.

My Mom keeps a variety of ice cream in her freezer for when I come by to visit, most of it has been in there 3-6 months.

Many times it starts to change consistency. It will grow big chunks of ice and the chocolate will get real dark and somewhat slimy. You can probably still eat it but I just chuck it and get some new stuff.

nah, as long as the power has not gone out and the freezer has been working correctly, it will last a while. it may not taste "fresh" because of possible freezer burn, but its not going to be bad, still good enough to eat!! enjoy!

I'm surprised it was still in there. It was there before xmas vacation, and they cleaned out the fridge over the vacation. But didn't clean out the freezer.

No spoilage, you'll just break your wrist trying to spoon it out of the container. I've had REALLY freezer burned vanilla ice cream....it went from rock hard one month (with ice crystals) to slimy and hard the next month. Tasted like paper (i'm guessing from the inside of the box)
