Can I make a longer network cable out of a phone wire? If I take the connecters off my 5 foot CAT5 cable? If so how would I go about putting the connecters on the phone wire?

Just wondering if it would work. BTW I am only useing it to run to 1 other PC for file tranfer and gaming.

It possible that there will be some form of slow noisy connection.

What is the story, given the cost of Cat5? I am puzzled.


 
Well I was just wondering as no one around where I live sells CAT5 cables and I thought I would ask before I go buying online and having to wait for it.
 
best to just buy it...dont bother using phone cable since its not the proper grade, it mite work but it will be noisy or slower...just order it online...by the way where the heck do u live that they dont sell cat5 anywhere around?
