Can I use X1800XT in Antec Sonata (380W PSU)?

Hello all,

I have Antec Sonata with 380W PSU in.
I don't have any plans to replace PSU for a while.
Can I use ATI X1800XT with current PSU?

I have 1 SATA and 2 PATA IDE drives + BenQ DW1650 burner + CPU Intel 3G 630

or should I look for NV 7900GT that takes far less power?

yes it will. but you will need something else to power the rest of the computer, unless you are running a VIA CPU

when I changed to 7900GT instead x1800xt it comes to 294 W only

You should be fine. Those Sonatas come with Truepower PSUs. They can take your system with an X1800XT.

I like that calculator page. Seems I need 376w for my current setup. If I go with Crossfire, I will need 489w :Q.
