Can I use windex to clean my normal tube CRT?

Can I? I know its not wise to do it on an LCD screen. Water leaves streaks.

I heard you shouldn't because windex will eat away at the screen...even with present day CRTs.
Best is to use a semi-damp cloth. After you get it clean stop touching the screen

Get one of those anti-static cleaning fluids. Costs less than 10 bucks. Do a favour for your nice monitor.

Water leaves streaks. Not on mine it doesn't.

What you should use is nail polish remover to clean your screen. It works wonders.
I've used it many times and no more streaks!
