Can I use Win2K defrag utility in NT 4.0?

My NT 4.0 laptop HD is becoming noticeably slow in disk access. I need to defrag it and we all know NT 4.0 doesn't have a utility built in. Anyway to add the defrag program from Win2K by copying the .exe or something like that? I'd rather not buy Norton Utilities just to get the defrag utility...it's a ripoff.

Thanks Staver! Do you use either of these versions of software? I'm downloading Diskeeper v6.0 now and if it's worth it, I will probably buy it. What do you think?

In Win2000, Diskeeper v6.0 is very slow, so I uninstalled it the day I downloaded it. PerfectDisk is faster, but I don't agree with their privacy policies upon purchase, and I could never get a live person to talk with before the purchase, so I uninstalled that even though it still worked after the exp date. Now, on the rare occasions that I need a defrag. I boot back to Win98 😉 and run speedisk since I'm using fat32. I think Win2000 does a very good job of preventing fragmentation since I rarely drop below 95% across 58G. I'd try em both, then you'll know which runs better on your system. I had another one but I'd have to pay in euros, so ... 😉 It was pretty good too. I'll see if I can find the link for it as well.
