Can I use two diffenet size monitors?

So I had two 19" monitors and my Acer finally died on me. I was wondering if I could buy a 24" monitor as my main and have my desktop extended onto my 19" monitor.

If yes would both have to be in the 1400x900? or could i have 1920 x 1080 along with the 1400 x 900 running at the same time?

You can have two different displays at two different sizes and resolutions. Right now I have a 22" Acer as my main desktop at 1680x1050, and my 32"TV is hooked up as a secondary monitor running at 1920x1080. Mix and match all you'd like.
