Actually... The one linked is a Xbox 360 cable, so it will not work on the Xbox.

No, that one won't work. The XBOX only outputs component signals with the adapter, so you'll need to buy a component to VGA transcoder (on top of the XBOX's Component adapter).

Something like THIS

I bought an x2vga adapter.. I think the website is x2vga.com

I've been using it for over a year now with my monitor and it works perfectly.

you could buy a cheap tv tuner and connect your xbox to your computer
only problem is sound (at least i haven't figured a way to make it work)

Just get an adapter that has two rca jacks on one end and a mini headphone jack on the other. Pretty common, Radio Shack etc. Plug into sound card line in, stereo, headphones, whatever.

My cheapo ATI tuner I'll have to play around with though for playing a console game on the monitor. Picture didn't look very good on the normal quality setting. Looked better on the high quality one, but then the video lags enough to be annoying.

I have thought about that adapter but where does the sound come from.

Uh... your speakers? Just plug the audio output from the XBox into whatever you want to play the sound.
