From what I can see, that mobo's mPCIe slot is mPCIe only, and does not support mSATA (mSATA requires the wiring for a SATA port to be run to the mPCIe port, and mSATA support can therefore not be added at a later point). You won't be able to place an SSD there. Either find a motherboard that explicitly supports mSATA, or go for a regular 2.5" SSD.

What OS will you be running on this? A cheaper solution that should be ok for this kind of usage is to get a decent performance USB 3.0 stick and boot from that. I wouldn't think the longevity would match an SSD, but then again, how many reads/writes does the system drive of a NAS have to handle?

Thank you Valantar. Now I have a better idea of what to look for in a MB. Good idea on the boot from USB. Certainly an option, but I want a full Windows PC for this NAS.
