My dead battery from my compaq presario 1800t is rated at 14.8V, 3.6Ahr, I borrowed my cousin's battery from his compaq presario 1260 which is rated at 14.8V, 3.0Ahr. I'm wondering if this is ok to use? I've noticed on ebay that the 1200,1600 and 1800 are all sold as the same but the batteries are rated at either 14.8 3.6Ahr or 9.6V, 4.0Ahr. it boots up fine and but maybe i'm doing some damage to it in the long run by using a 14.8V 3.0Ahr.

thanks for any suggestions.

yes, you can use it (assuming it fits), but battery life will be a little shorter than current (hehe) battery life
