Can I use these hard drives for a desktop pc?

Saw it on eBay and the buyer said its for cabinet server only. Whatever that means. Can I just remove whatever mounting bracket it's on and put in my pc?

Those look like 68-pin SCSI, or some proprietary backplane connector. Did you get confirmation from the seller that they are SATA HDDs? If not, don't bother, they won't work.

Does the seller have a model #? They could be SAS, but hard to tell for sure from the angle/ distance.

If they are SAS probably not, though my Mobo has the capability and I still don't use em.

I'd say don't bother, IMHO.

That or you'd need an hot swappable server backplane more than likely, ya.

I guess the seller must be a newb if he/she doesn't know what they're selling. They also have the drive on carpet not knowing/caring about possible static electricity damage.
