I don't have SVideo on my tv. Can I use the adapter supplied by my Geforce on the ATI Radeon 8500 to convert it to component or is it proprietary?

thanks....

No I think it will work fine. You can buy Svideo--> component adaptors at the store; there should be no reason why that shouldn't work.

you guys may be mixing up composite with component.
component is the cables that have red, blue, green.
composite is the yellow RCA cable.
you want to get s-video to composite adapter or cable.
i wouldn't go to radioshack because the price is outrageous there.
i read from other members, http://www.pccables.com/ is a good place to buy it.

the included s-video to (single) rca converter and cables worked just fine for me. I bought the retail 8500, BTW. Dunno if all cords, etc are included in other versions. Haven't looked, either.
