Can I use the MaxBlast formatting utility on a RAID 0 array or should I use DOS.

Please, no "try it and find out" responses.

You guys have already provided me w/the DOS way. I'm just not sure which one I should use.

After much reading of "Paul's Unofficial KT7/R FAQ and reading at StorageReview, I'm now thoroughly intimidated. :Q

I know that you have to:

1. Create the RAID array
2. Format the RAID array

The MaxBlast utility (I'm sure many of you have used it...nice little disk huh?) is a bootable floppy. It lets you set FAT size and partition size, then does it for you. It asks for a Win 98boot disk when it's done doing it's thing. I guess after I insert the boot disk, I just cancel out and then ghost my old drive to the RAID array, right?

I don't think so. I think it will only format a single drive. Dos format is safest. Print out the relevant part of the faq and follow it step by step. That's what I did and then I copied over the ghost image.
If your array is larger than 64 gb you'll need to download one of the fdisk utilities at the faq.

Yes, I saw that and dl'd the fix utility (thanks Bacillus!). So how do I do this? I mean, do I create the raid array, format it, ghost my old drive onto my new array AND THEN run the utility? MS's page doesn't give "an order" Thanks much.

EDIT
Mike's a dumbass....MS DOES GIVE instructions. They are alllllll the way down at the bottom of the page hidden underneath the 14,354 different language choices. Thanks.
