Can I use the Dell 2407WFP stand on my 2405FPW?

I am very happy with my 2405FPW but I like the look of the 2407WFP stand better. As far as I know, both of these monitors have 100mm VESA mounting bracket - I shouldn't have a problem putting the LCD stand from a 2407 on my 2405, right? Here are a couple links to pics comparing the two stands:

If they're both VESA compliant and of the same size, it should be ok. Maybe you could get a third party stand also. While I worked for Dell, I was told that all the Dell LCD monitors stands are made by Ergotron.

Cool, thanks for the information! I contacted my Dell rep, but I'm doubting he can order me just the stand since the US Dell site doesn't even sell the new monitor yet.

You have to remember the weight could become an issue. The monitor was designed to work with that stand, so it may not be completely in balance with another stand.

Though I will agree, the new stands sure look pretty.
