Can I use the Alpha 8045 heatsink on my P4 if I remove the plastic rack?

I was thinking, if you remove the plastic rack on the motherboard that I have, Epox 4G4A+, I can use the 4 holes and mount the Alpha 8045, can I not?

i believe the pressure exerted is different for amd and p4 (p4 uses way more pressure)

maybe if you got the springs for pal8942 it would work...
or try trading 8045 for 8942

Unless the hole pattern (spacing of the mounting holes) is the same on the 8045 as it is on the P4 MoBo you won't be able to do it at all. If be some chance it is the same then you need to make sure the height of the spacer studs is correct. I'd be suprised if it fits.
