I just placed an order for Amd64 3000. I have an old Thermalright SLK-947U Socket A cooler. Do they sell a 462-to-939 conversion kit or something of that nature? Thanks.
There are a load of options beyond stock, and not necessarily expensive options -- unless you are really into overclocking P4's, you don't need to spend a lot on a heat sink. A cpu from AMD for the socket 939 isn't very hot running normally, and there are always some heavily discounted HSF models that are being discontinued that you can locate using Pricewatch. Cooler Master, for instance, is selling off their XDream II coolers, which were advertised as being very quiet.Originally posted by: buildingacomputer
