is there an 'easy' way to cool an existing PSU without a fan?
I was thinking..
What happenes if I just slap a couple of slot1 heatsinks on the top of the PSU case..

probably not.. most of the hot components in a PSU are connected to a heatsink(s) in line with the PSU fan, not connected to the outer case... so there is probably no way around using a fan without some SERIOUS mods

how serious? well, you'd need to open up the PSU and connect heatsinks to the individual components (IC's and such)...this is somewhat dangerous as well, and i'm really not sure how effective it would be.

is a fan too loud? you could *rather* easily swap out a noisy PSU fan with a better quality lower dB one
