Can I use PC133 memory with PC100 memory?

I've got an OC'ed Celeron 450 that needs some more memory. I've currently got 1 PC100 64mb and 2 PC100 32mb sticks on my Abit BH6. Can I replace the 2 32mb sticks with 2 256mb PC133 and keep the 64mb PC100 in there as well? Didn't know if I can mix and match speeds. Also, will there be any problems with my overclocking?

Should be fine.... I've never had a problem mixing PC133 and PC100.

If you're adding 512mb of PC133, I wouldn't worry with sticking on your old 64mb chip, especially if it will slow you down at all. 512 will be PLENTY sufficient.

I may be a cheapa** and buy a 128 and a 256 and thus need the 64... I do have a follow-up to my previous question - will I have problems 'cause I've messed with my FSB in the process of OCing my Celeron? (I don't have my machine in front of me so I can't check the BIOS settings...

I gotta agree with Andy. IF you are upgrading to PC-133, why not just go with a 256 DIMM of PC-133 and fleabay or swap your old PC-100 DIMMS? As cheap as ram is now, why not get the full benefit of being able to run your ram at higher clock speeds? You didn't mention your OS or how you are using your PC, but unless you are running Win 2K and a server, you can certainly "get by" with as little as 256 MB, and if you are running Win 98, more than 512 mb may actually slow your system down. I run Win98SE, and saw no discernable difference between 256 and 384 MB on my system.

I'm wanting to try this new WWII Online and they recommend a minimum of 256 for it to run. I figured I'd buy a 256 DIMM and with the 128, I'd have 384. I'm running WinME...

you can do it, but you can only run as fast as your slowest ram will allow you...so you might be better off taking out that 64 mb chip as well unless you cant overclock too high

Yeah guys but he's running a Celery overclocked already, not likely to need faster than 100 FSB. Having said that, short of trying to run Windows XP which is probably a bad idea on a Celeron anyway, or doing something else that's really greedy, 256Mb is enough so 384Mb is plenty, and another 64Mb isn't going to make a noticeable difference.
