I'm thinking of getting a 60->80mm fan adapter to cool a new duron 800-900.
I was thinking of getting those very very quiet panaflo 80mm fan on top of the adaptor.. but lil bit worried that it might just not cut it. (when you consider the tiger 80mm HSF with 38cfm gave out very disappointing result.. and panaflo only boosts about.. 28cfm I think..)
So, I would need a very gooood heasink hat perfectly matches with the panaflo case fan.
Do you think it will work, or it is better just to get the tiger cooler with the stock fan?

it would probably be OK as long as you had a decent heatsink (SK6 for example).

Yeah - this will certainly work. My bro cools his 1.4GHz T-bird with a 29cfm low-noise Evercool fan and a ThermoEngine HS w/80mm-60mm funnel. MUCH quieter than the 60mm screamer, and lower temps (2 or 3C) as well. Definitely a good move.
