Can I use my mouse with a different receiver?

I have used logitech equipment with other receivers, but my question is this:

I have seen the new mini USB receivers for laptops that are only a plug with no cord. Would I be able to use my logitech cordless trackman with one of those receivers instead of the bulky one that it came with?

RF you mean? If so, I would imagine if the mouse and reciever operate on the same frequency they should work together.

Yep, should work. I'm using the RF Optical Mouse (Logitech) that came with my freebie SE Navigator set with a much older RF receiver from a ball mouse. I didn't need the mouse b/c of my MX700, and had a very old Logitech Cordless Mouseman with a non-functional mouse lying around. Plugged in the receiver and it works fine with the newer optical mouse.
