Can I use my linksys router (wired) as a switch only?

Sure. Just connect your uplink (cable that would normally plug into the WAN port) to one of the LAN ports, then connect your PC(s) to the other LAN ports. If you have a DHCP server somewhere else on your network already, then you want to disable DHCP in the Linksys router's configuration page. The exact location depends on the router you are using, so if you need instructions, please let us know what model router you have.
