Can i use my ddr2 667 on a new conroe board that takes ddr2 800?

Questions in the title, i have 2 gigs of ocz gold series ram ddr2 667 , but the mobo's for conroe ask for ddr2 800. will the ram still work in the motherboard? is it worth selling it and buying new? on limited budget, sont really want to sell and lose more money!

Yes. Although be careful, OCZ sucks. Gold modules in particular have a lot of compatibility issues.

Make sure you research the particular board you're going to use and see what others' experience has been with those OCZ modules.

the speeds don't play much of a role in compatibility from what I understand

but there still are a few deciding factors of compatiblity

Just FYI... stock for conroe is DDR2 533 not 800. If you're looking at where it says FSB 1066/800, 1066 is the conroe one, i.e. 1066/2 = 533.
