Can I use my current harddrives with new computer?

What I mean is, my old computer (in my sig) has issues with the motherboard, so I've decided to buy a new mobo and cpu. Now I have other parts I will be using with my new computer build. I am wondering if my two old seagate harddrives, which still work, will be able to load up properly on my new mobo/cpu? Will I have to reformat the drives or will they work fine with windows xp loaded onto it, among other things?

they will work fine as long as your mobo settings are correct (you may need to disable things like NCQ), although I recommend you boot into safe mode, uninstall the chipset drivers, and reinstall the latest chipset drivers for the new mobo
