I have an old Asus P4B533-V motherboard that support DDR PC2100/1600. Can I use faster ram in it? PC3200 or 2700. I understand that it won't go at the full speed, but I want to know if the motherboard will accept it and use it.

The reason for getting faster ram, it's CHEAPER. :p

Thanks. I guess I'll upgrade my system so that it has more ram than my laptop. :)

It should work, it would just run at lower speeds. I've got PC2700 in a KR7A (supports up to PC2100), although it just runs at the lower speeds (although depending upon the sticks you can tighten the timings)
