Can i use DDR RAMS downclocked ?(DDR2700 CL 2,5@DDR2000 CL1,5)

I have a DELL motherboard ( INtel i 845PE Chipset). It's a board for DDR2700 (333 mhz ) rams, but can i use for example DDR3500 or DDR4000 Rams ? Will they work on my PC ? Will it harm them ?

IF you use a Ram downclocked ( DDR2700 CL2,5 @DDR2000 CL1,5), will that harm the ram ?

Yes you can downclock ram no harm.

Wow, I didn't know you could ram at cas 1.5.

Yes, you can downclock it. I doubt you'll be able to get it as cas 1.5 though.
