not sure where to ask this. I have a unique situation.

Hardware:
mifi device for internet
1 computer with wifi to connect to mifi device
1 non-computer device (also non upgradable) that requires internet connection but only via ethernet.

my idea: computer connects to mifi wirelessly, other device connects to the computer ethernet jack and shares the internet connection with the computer?

The only thing is, I don't know if this is possible, (or if it is) how to set it up.

Anyone have some advice, or a better solution to this puzzle?

your PC will need a 2 port Ethernet card, then you have to enable Internet Connection Sharing... I think it can be done

why would i need a 2 port card? i would only be using 1?

I believe for internet sharing, the Ethernet card should allow that, now the two port ones allow that, some one one port ones might allow that too, I am not sure if all do. Just Google Internet Connection Sharing and see what you find...

I am not understanding parts of this. Factoring that in, if I wanted my incoming broadband coaxial to connect to two devices, I guess I would install a splitter. Might it compromise the signal? Sure.
