Can I use an old PSU that only has a 20pin connector

I'm thinking of upgrading my old p4 agp system to a pci-e system and mayb e doing a little gaming this winter. I plan on looking for something used, preferably a cpu/mobo/pci-e graphics card together.

I have an older Antec True 550 PSU that puts out 24 amps on the 12v rail, but it only has a 20 pin and 4 pin power connectors for the mobo.

I know some mobo's only require a 20 pin even though they have 24 pin connectors. Can anybody suggest a mobo that will work with my PSU and run a fast enough cpu and gpu to play a few games at 1920x1200?

Right now the ony game i have that supports that resolution is America's Army but I would like to get Flight Sim X at some point in the future.

Some will and some won't but it's not a good idea with the newer MOBOs. You can get a really solid PSU for about $100 or less. Skimping on power and using an older PSU with a newer rig is just asking for trouble.

A P4 isn't going to make for much of a gaming system unless your playing games that are about 4 years old or older.

A P4 with a 6800GT is what I have now. I'm looking to buy a used mobo/cpu that I can run with my current PSU and do some light gaming at 1920x1200
