Can I use an Athlon XP as an MP on a Dual Mobo?

I have heard rumors that dual athlon XPs will drop right into an MP mobo and that the only difference between the XP and MP is a marketing distinction. Does anyone else have experience with this?

I am building a 3D workstation and don't need the "100% uptime" guarantee that the Athlon MPs seem to carry for servers, etc. I won't mind if Maya crashes every once in a while if I can buy 2400 XPs instead of 2200 MPs.

It can be done. To use the 2400+ Athlon XP in an MP setup, all you need to do is to short the fourth L5 bridge on the processor. I found the story here. Good luck. Peace.
