can I use a Win XP Pro upgrade lic on a Win XP Pro full lic install?

I have several Windows XP Pro upgrade CDs/serial numbers. I was wondering...if I use a Windows XP Pro full disc (the regular disc, not the upgrade disc), will my serial number from the upgrade disc work?

It's faster just to use a regular Windows XP Pro disc than the upgrade disc, because in order to do a clean install with the upgrade disc you have to dig up your old Windows CD (98, 2000, whatever), and have it verify that you have it. It'd be faster to just use a regular disc, but I don't want to waste all that time installing if it's not going to work.

Anyone know?
 
no it will not work. i have tried this with my cuz computer and i did not succedd in this but maybe some one else has. hope this helps
 
ah, thanks for the info, you've just saved me an hour of installation 🙂 oh well, popping in a cd to verify it isn't a big deal.
