Can I use a spliter for 6-pin PCI-E connector?

My current PSU has no 6-pin PCI-E power connector for video cards, so I would have to use the 2 molex connector to 1 PCI-E adapter.

My question is can I split 1 single Molex connector and use the 2 for the PCI-E adapter?

Something like this:

Single 4-pin Molex --> Y-Splitter --> Dual Molex/6-pin PCI-E adapter.

Im sure you could - but why would you want to. Use two seperate molex cables from the PSU.
