I just got a WRTU54G-TM router from T-mobile for VoIP. It has two phone jacks but each is wired to a separate sim card and I can't use both for one line. Can I use a regular RJ11 splitter to hook up my 2nd phone?
You can wire a VOIP ATA (analog telephone adapter) directly up a house phone 66 block without a problem. I just bought a cordless phone and bought several add on cordless phones for around the house. Works fine for me.
See if there's a "Ringer Equivelance Number" (or REN) associated with that interface.
Most phones also have a ringer evuivelance number.
The Idea is that if you add up all teh host device's RENs (each phone), the total REN will be less than or equal to the REN of the interface.
It relates to how much current/voltage the interface can supply. If your total device REN is too high, they (at the least) won't ring or (at the worst) will blow out the interface.
