Can I use a regular camcorder as a webcam with the new Gladiac video-in board?

...been looking for a new webcam, but was thinking I could use my digital camcorder as one, if I were to purchase the add-on video card for my Gladiac...that should work, right?

Although I'm not familiar with the add-in card for the Gladiac, I can say that camcorders make excellent webcams - particularly the digital ones since they have higher resolutions. I'm using my Super8 Sony as a digital camera (it's pretty crappy) and as a webcam in combination with my Miro PCTV board.

Nice, thanks for the info..I have a Hitachi Super 8 camcorder, and was hoping to do the same thing you explained...seems to me the RCA cable will plu right into the board, but wasn't sure if Netmeeting, or any other software will reconize it as a cam or not...I know you can hook it into the back of the Intel Pro cam, but that defeats the purpose
