I just bought one of those PCI adapters for PCMCIA wireless LAN. It has the PCMCIA / cardbus socket. I want it however to use one of those 2 GB PCMCIA drives (1.8 inches, 4000 RPM).

I haven't tested it, but I would like to know if someone has experience using one of these adapters with a PCMCIa hard drive. It is still sealed in the box, so I can return it if needed.

Thanks

Alex

It should work!
Just be certain that they both work in the same voltage ranges? PCMCIA and CARDBUS use different voltages...

I have tested my PCI/PCMCIA adapter with a network card and it works....just need to install drivers!

As said above the only problem is that some wireless adaptors are 5.0v and some are 3.3v
